SHOOTING PROGRAM WELL ON THE WAY

On May12th 2007, members of the Barbados Cadet Corps shooting program engaged in their first in house shooting competition. After only a few weeks of training, the cadets were full of confidence and determination  .

Though some cadet shooters were away due to another Corps exercise, the three pairs of teams showcased their new mastery and skills learnt from coach, Marlon Best, with fine form and precision.

They have already started to issue challenges- suggesting to their OC, Ocdt D Smith that he could invite other officers who "feel they can shoot, to bring it on.

The program continues on Saturday 19th May at the BRPA (Barbados Rifle and Pistol Association range in Waterford.
Meanwhile, arrangements are being finalized for necessary equipment to be acquired for the program. It is expected that state-of-the-art equipment and gear will shortly be provided for the program.

Already plans are in train for a national junior team to participate in a number of competitions coming up over the next two years. These include the upcoming Commonwealth Junior Games scheduled for India in 2008.

Congratulations to those involved in this novel program and especially on the outstanding start in training.
