The ceremony was first held last year 2005 |

| The Cadet Band brought a sustained series of performances to an end today with a sterling performance at Barbados Workers Union May Day Street Parade on 1 May 2006.. The members of the Band, resplendent in their Toy Soldier uniforms once again had the honour of marching at the head of the parade. Before being involved in the march,
however, they assembled at the memorial for Sir Frank Walcott where
there was a brief but very moving ceremony in honour of the contribution
made by Sir Frank to the BWU. The Prayers were said by Dean
Canon Frank Marshall and this was followed by the laying of four wreaths
by the dignitaries mentioned. During the laying of the wreaths, the
Cadet band played' The Lords' My Shepherd". It was beautifully rendered.
