200 recruits join ranks

200 recruits attended their first cadet camp in December 2007 and left as new members of the Barbados Cadet Corps. The recruits completed their initial training which commenced during the term and were exposed to the camp routine of the Corps during the camp which was under the command of Officer in charge of Junior Cadets, Major Peter Powlett.
The new cadets formed up on the Paragon parade square in preparation to reciting the cadet pledge and being formally admitted into the BCC by the Commandant.

Hundreds of parents and guardians and guardians were on hand to cheer the new cadets on for their first parade.

Here Major Powlett addresses the waiting parents.

The cadets settle down to lunch before their final parade.

Parents and Guardians stuck around after the parade to chat with officers and each other....and to admire the new uniforms.
