CADET CORPS STRUCK WITH ANOTHER TRAGIC LOSS

Barbados, A loving family, The Barbados Cadet Corps, Lester Vaughn School, and the Cadet Band each suffered a sad and painful loss on Sunday April 17, 2011.

Sixteen-year-old Cpl Webster S. lost his life on Sunday after getting into difficulties at Brownes Beach, one day after his sixteenth birthday and while attending a classmate’s birthday picnic on the beach.

Shaquille was a well liked, fun loving member of the Cadet Corps, an active member of the Cadet Band and a well respected NCO. He was also held in very high regard at school by both staff and fellow students.

It is with deep sadness and grief that the Commandant, Officers, HQ Staff, NCO’s, Cadets and all ranks and associates of the Barbados Cadet Corps express our sincere condolences to the parents, family, friends and associates of Cpl Webster. We sincerely share your terrible loss and we thank you for having shared Shaquille with us in the cadet family over the past five years. May he rest in peace.

The funeral of the late Cpl Webster was held on Saturday April 30 at 10.00 hrs at the Lester Vaughn School.
The interment then take place at the St Thomas Church at noon.
