BAND WINS GOLD and SILVER awards at N.I.F.C.A. 2005 |
|
| In its first ever entry at
the annual national arts festival (NIFCA), the Band of the
Barbados Cadet Corps has continued the high standard that they
have set for themselves and for the Corps by winning a gold and
silver award for the two pieces with which they entered
respectively. Under the direction of band master Lt Len Cummins, the fifty-strong band demonstrated that talent and hard work pays off. No one who has heard these young musicians over the past year- performing either as a marching military band or in concert mode, or even during practice and rehearsal- could be surprised at the NIFCA results. The Commandant, Hq. Staff, officers and fellow cadets of the Corps wish to heartily congratulate the band officers and cadets as well as the parents and other well-wishers who support the band. We wish them continued success and note that they have again been selected to be featured at the upcoming Independence parade. |
It is quite apparent that
our band is ready for even greater challenges. We all look forward
to their participation soon at an international level in competition
and displays which brings even greater credit to Barbados and the
Barbados Cadet Corps.
