LOCAL AND OVERSEAS CAMPS 2006 |
|
The Barbados Cadet Corps (BCC) will be staging a number of local and overseas camps during the summer period for cadets at various levels.
Aim. The aim of these camps is to expose cadets to training at their respective level in an unfamiliar territory. Objectives. The main objectives of these trips are to provide an opportunity for the cadets to demonstrate their skills and efficiency at operating in an environment unfamiliar to them. Additionally it affords the cadets participating to interact and train with cadets at their equivalent level in the respective country visited. Participation. All cadets except junior and star one levels are expected to participate in these overseas camps. Junior cadets and star one cadets will attend local camp in Barbados. Passports. Cadets traveling overseas are to be in possession of a valid passport (valid up to six month after date of travel). Such individuals must have their passport number available on request and will have to bring the passport to cadet HQ for verification of the number. Examinations. Prior to camp a number of exam days will be scheduled for Star Two, Three and Four cadets. Star One cadets will be tested during the star one camp. Parent Consent. Each Cadet attending local and overseas camps must have the appropriate parent consent form filled out and signed by their parent / guardian. This is absolutely necessary as the Cadet HQ is unable to take any responsibility for cadets without written (consent form) permission from parent/guardian.
Travel fee. The approximate travel fee for cadets going overseas is as follows:
St Lucia $350.00 Antigua $370.00 Dominica $380.00 Jamaica $840.00 Additional Costs. It will be necessary for cadets to have additional funds available to them for use as spending money. Unit Commanders are to investigate the possibility of acquiring assistance for cadets traveling overseas from the Board of Management of their respective Unit. Fund Raising. Cadet HQ is in the process of planning the following fund raising activities: Sponsored Walk Cake Sales Car Washes Medical. All cadets attending camp are to be in possession of accurate and up to date medical forms. Medication. All cadets taking medication are to indicate this on their registration form. This information is necessary as the Cadet HQ must be aware and prepared to address any medical situations that may occur. Blood Group. All cadets traveling overseas are to submit their blood group to their Cadet HQ as soon as possible. This is necessary as it is a compulsory requirement for all cadets leaving the island on cadet business. Dietary Requirements. All cadets with special dietary requirements are to indicate this on their registration form. Additional Information. Additional information on this trip may be obtained from the attached document. |
| Cadet HQ wishes to advise strongly that jewelry, large sums of money or other valuable items are not to be taken to any camp whether local or overseas. |
