Objective of Challenge

The objective is for the team to complete the obstacle course safely in the least possible time

The challenge seeks to test the physical fitness, leadership skills, teamwork, and resourcefulness of competing teams.

 

Rules

*Penalty points (time penalties) will be incurred for failure of each team member to successfully complete any obstacle.  Penalties will also be incurred for breaches of safety rules.

*Final course time will be the time between start of the event and last team member crossing the finish line PLUS total penalties accumulated.

*Safety rules will be provided to teams in the event briefing session. These rules will seek to ensure that team members do not attempt unsafe practices and dangerous tactics.

 

Scoring

Each Obstacle will be assigned a penalty value.  The rules will also specify for each obstacle, if team members can assist each other or if a particular obstacle has to be approached individually.

 

 

 

 

Safety

Safety officers will abort any unsafe practices, and the safety penalty will be applied.

Objective of Challenge

The objective is for the team to execute a number of military exercises, using cadet training in the areas of Field Craft, Map Reading, Skill- at- arms, and tactics. Teams will be issued with electronic laser weapons and will be provided with mission instructions 30 minutes before the start of the mission.

The challenge seeks to test the Technical skills, physical fitness, leadership skills, teamwork, and resourcefulness of competing teams.

 

Rules

  • This Contest will be organized on a Knockout Basis. Teams will draw for the various positions and missions will then pit two teams against each other. The winning team will advance to the next round where a new challenge will be issued.
  • Should there be more than EIGHT entries, there will be an elimination round which will reduce the teams to eight. No more that sixteen teams will be contemplated.

Scoring

The Rules will be fully explained at the technical meeting on the first day of Camp. Points accumulated will be based on the objectives achieved by the teams. The number of shots fired, hits scored and ground won or held. Teams will also have the opportunity to familiarize themselves with the laser equipment and to review the tactics and skills required before the actual contest.

 

Safety

Safety officers will abort any unsafe practices, and the safety penalties will be applied.

Objective of Challenge

The objective is for the team to make an impact at the start of the Contest. The opening ceremony should set the tone for the competitiveness and high standards to be expected during the camp.

 

Rules

Each team will be judged by a panel of judges. Criteria to be used will include:

  • Ideal team size – nineteen
  • Percentage participation
  • Uniformity, Cleanliness and impact of uniforms worn
  • Precision of march pass
  • Overall Impact of team.

 

Scoring

 

Each team will start the competition with the points accumulated at the march-pass. (There will be no first place etc as with other contests).

Objective of Challenge

The objective will be for the team to demonstrate their marksmanship skills by knocking down a number of falling plates in the least time possible, and with the minimum possible number of rounds expended.

 

Rules

Each cadet on the team MUST fire at least ___3__ rounds; Each cadet may fire at any of the targets; __15__ rounds will be issued to the team at the commencement of each session. At the end of __5__ minutes or when all targets have fallen, or when all ammunition has been expended- the session shall end.

 

 

Scoring

Points for each session shall be computed as follows:

Objective of Challenge

The objective of this challenge is to test the cadets’ abilities to compete in a number of physical and mental sports challenges in a competitive but friendly atmosphere.

 

Rules

Events scheduled include:

1.            4X100 Relay

Number of persons per team:        4

Format of race: Shuttle (back and forth on 100M track)

Restrictions:     minimum of one Junior (Under 16).

NO National Track sprint athletes.

Special Conditions: At each baton change, the new competitor joins the race, but the original runner also continues. The race is complete when EACH of the four runners has crossed the finish line. Teams MUST stay in their own lane.

2.            2X200 BMX Cycle Relay

Number of persons per Team:       8

Format of Race:         2 laps of track.

Restrictions:     Minimum of one Junior and I female.

Each person rides for 200M and passes Bike like a Baton. Bike must come to FULL stop before the new rider may leave the dock point towards the bike.

3.            Racquet and Ball Relay

Number of persons per Team:       10

Format of race: Each person runs for 40M while balancing ball on Racquet. Ball not to be handled while moving. Racquet and ball then passed like a baton.

Restrictions:     None

4.            Sack Relay 10X10

Number of persons:    10

Format of race: Each person jumps 10 M and pass sack as baton.

Restrictions:     None

5.            Stretcher Relay Race

Number of persons per team:        10

Format of Race: 5 X 2 person teams relay “patient” over the 5 legs of the course.

Restrictions: Patient should not fall off

6.            Water Relay

Number of persons:                      10

Format of challenge: Teams to use supplied containers to transfer water from one container to their own pet bottle. Ends when Main container is empty. Team with most in pet bottle wins.

7.            Tug O War

Number of persons:                      10

Format of challenge: Two best of three pulls

8.            Obstacle Race

Number of persons:                      10

Format of race:  Full team to navigate obstacle course. Time penalties will be applied for infractions and the best time will apply.

9.            Pass the ball Challenge

Number of persons:                      10

Format of challenge: Each member is required to travel 10 meters with a ball between the knees, pass it on to the next team member. The race finishes when the last member crosses the finish line with the ball.

Restrictions: Must NOT touch the ball with the hands. If it falls contestant must go back to point where it fell, have someone replace the ball and then continue

10.       Hockey/Golf Target Challenge

Number of persons:                      5

Format of Challenge: Each person takes a turn to hit a ball towards a target area on the field, using a hockey stick. The Target is a set of concentric circles and the team with the highest score wins.

11.       Marksmanship Challenge (Top Gun)

Number of persons:                      4

Format of challenge:   Each team has 20 (4X5) shots at the target. Highest score wins

12.       Caterpillar Bounce Race

Number of persons:                      10

Format of race: Team forms a chain with each person on their hands while feet are placed on the shoulder/back of the next member. The last one stands normally and holds the feet in front with his/her hands.

Restrictions:     Should the Caterpillar collapse, it must stop and repair itself before continuing.

Team Composition

Team of Three cadets; at least one shall be female and one under age 16.

 

Points Structure

12 locations will be detailed on the map, each with a particular point value.

 

Objective of Challenge

The course shall be detailed on maps to be provided to team managers at the technical meeting on Sunday 22. There will be a common start and finish point from which each team will depart at 5-minute intervals. Twelve (12) target locations will be marked on the map and identified on the ground. Each point will have an allocated points value ranging from 5 to 20 points.

 

Rules

Teams MUST travel together- on foot, may take any routes preferred, in any order and the aim is to accumulate as many points as possible. At each location reached, the team will receive a special stamp on the team record sheet, entitling them to the points associated with that location.

There will be a penalty of minus 1 point for each minute over the allocated time limit however there will be NO points awarded for early return to base.

 

Scoring

Final score is - Total location points collected, less penalty points for late return.

Objective of Challenge

The Youth Forum is designed

 

· to give cadets practical experience in the fundamental skills of public speaking and

· to give cadets from a variety of nations and backgrounds a chance to meet, exchange views and form friendships.

     The Seminar will coincide with a regional Principals Conference being held in Barbados at the time. It is planned that Principals will be in attendance.

 

Rules

Each presenter will be allocated a 10-15 minute period for presentation. Visual aids may be used. Available topics are:

  (i) “HIV/AIDS among Teenagers”

 (ii) “Violence in Schools”

 (iii) “Drug Use Among Teens”

 

Each participant will be expected to submit an brief of the chosen topic and details of any audio visual aids required by July 1, 2007.

 

Scoring

A team of Judges will score each presentation.

Objective of Challenge

The objective is to complete the circuit in the least possible time AS A TEAM. Event Time is counted as the completion time of the last of the cadets in the team.  Cadets can support fellow team members. ALL safety equipment (riding helmets etc) Must be properly fitted before setting off.

 

Rules

The team (of three cadets) will be required to complete the following circuit in sequence.

1,    A 100M swim in the sea (safety boats and swimmers will be on hand and ALL PARTICIPANTS MUST compete wearing life jackets)

2.    A 4Km ride (by each of the three team members)

3.    A 4Km run (by each cadet)

Objective of Challenge

To transfer a document from the start position to the finish point (approx 6 Miles) in the best possible time and in good condition, through a system of relay runners stationed at fixed points along the route.

 

Rules

The various relay points will be identified on the map and teams will determine the start positions of their various runners. All teams will start off at the same time.

Objective of Challenge

These Command Tasks will be designed to test the military knowledge and skills of the various teams. Teams will be assigned various complex tasks to be completed in set time periods. They will be judged and scored on such areas as Leadership, Discipline, Planning, Execution, Creativity, etc.

For the survival camp, the teams will be required to organize themselves to operate in an outdoors field environment for a 24 hours period. They will be judged on leadership, organisation, discipline, security, alertness etc.

 

Rules

All Managers will be briefed on the expectations and the scoring guidelines at the technical meeting. Once the final positions are established, the Challenge points will be assigned as above.

 

Scoring

A panel of Judges will evaluate the performances of each team in the various aspects of this challenge.
