Five BCC officers receive Defence Board Commissions at 27th BDF Anniversary Parade

The 2006 Awardees march on to the Parade Square to receive their commendations.
Five senior officers of the Barbados Cadet Corps were awarded Defence Board Commendations at the 27th annual Barbados Defence Force Anniversary parade held at the St Ann's Barracks on Saturday August 19, 2006.

The Reviewing officer for the parade, Rev. The Honourable Joseph J.S Atherley, J.P., M.P. Minister of State in the Prime Minister's office presented the awards.

Each of these officers have completed over 20 years of continuous voluntary service to the Barbados Cadet Corps and continues to contribute significantly to the growth and success of the organisation.

This is the second batch of officers of the Corps to have been recognised in this manner, and Commandant of the Corps, Lt Col Trevor Browne has expressed his appreciation and thanks to the Chief of Staff of the Barbados Defence Force, Colonel Alvin Quintyne and the other members of the Defence Board for taking this step in recognising the important work of the Cadet Corps in Barbados. Col Browne continues to maintain that the service rendered by such officers is priceless and all the more valued since it is given voluntarily. Recognition at the level of the Defence Board is therefore very much appreciated by the Corps.

Congratulations to the officers awarded.

Guest assemble in the garden of the Officer's Mess to socialise after the parade.
